Wuhan Hanjie Wanda Plaza is the most high-end shopping center created by Wanda Group's innovative product model. As the flagship store of Wanda Plaza nationwide, it is hailed as the "jewel on the crown". The project surpasses other high-end luxury shopping centers in China in terms of design concept and project quality and has been praised by media as "having artistic taste and cultural connotation", "definitely a world-class building", and a "great commercial architecture". It has become a new urban landmark for Wuhan and China.
The two atriums are designed without columns, featuring an integrated skylight and sightseeing escalator structure, a unique approach not found in other Wanda Plazas across the country. Each atrium consists of four components: a glass skylight with a thermal insulation layer to regulate external environmental factors, serving as a thermal barrier and UV protection; and a funnel-shaped steel structure with one side exposed and the other enveloped by enamel-patterned glass panels. This innovative design creates a visually stunning and functionally efficient space, setting a remarkable standard in modern commercial architecture.
To line with the project's high-end positioning, the ceiling design extensively utilizes imported perforated gypsum boards. Additionally, we requested the manufacturer to install colored stainless-steel plates in certain perforations. This not only ensures excellent sound absorption but also creates a dazzling effect as light refracts and reflects off the surfaces, adding a touch of brilliance to the overall ambiance.
The design for the long street eliminates the previous use of escalators and overhead pedestrian bridges. The escalator design is situated on one side of the long street to ensure visual transparency. Another highlight of the project is the use of pillar-less glass railings.
Art installations are also a major highlight of this project. In the design of the entrance and key spaces, we have incorporated various art installations that revolve around the design element of 'water.' The glistening and dazzling water droplets, along with their lifelike reflections and ripples, create a sophisticated artistic atmosphere, enhancing the overall spatial experience of the project with elegance.
